Melbourne Zoo – Growing Wild

Johnson Painting Group recently completed painting works to the newly constructed exhibit at the Melbourne Zoo.

Growing Wild is an exciting new interactive area designed especially for children aged three to eight years. The exhibit is also a world-first exhibit focussed on creating play opportunities and nurturing an early love of nature. The exhibit is filled with animals, sculptures, tunnels and sounds, so kids can scramble, crawl and climb – or stand look-out like a Meerkat. Meerkats, Giant Tortoises and Brush Turkeys, reptiles, insects and other animals that live on the ground, are just the start of an amazing day at the Melbourne Zoo.

Johnson Painting Group Painted the structural steelwork for the brush turkey aviary in our factory in Braeside -transported and then constructed onsite, only needing minor touch ups after installation. We also completed timber coatings to the acoustic eco ply, decking’s, feature spotted gum timber panels and tortoise enclosure. Offices and back of house were completed in washable acrylic.

It is always an honour to be a part of one of Melbourne’s icons. It gives us a great sense of achievement knowing that thousands of families enjoy this facility every day of the year!
